 AverageKC, Did you give them a deposit when you booked the place. If not, not is sealed unless a deposit is given and contract is signed. It is common business practice. As a vendor, we've had brides who verbally give us a yes answer but change their minds in a few days. Always have things in writing and always secure your date with a deposit. KC - 10/27/2008
 AwfulHorrible Experience!!! The manager, Frank W.at this place is unreliable and dishonest. He claimed to have held my date for my banquet and only to have sold it the next day without calling to check like he said he would. When we went to drop off our deposit a few days later, it was only then that he decided to tell us he sold the day and "pretended" like he made a mistake when clearly he knew what he had done. Unacceptable. So BEWARE! If you want to book this place, make sure you get everything in writing, because once they decide to give it to someone else you're screwed! AverageEverything was going well until the week before the wedding. Their banquet manager is Jack Doan who is very easy to work with and even speaks perfect english so working with him was great. I could pick up the phone and call anytime I had a question and he would fax me anything I needed. But, he failed to tell me that the week of my wedding he was going on vacation! Well, the substitute was a guy named Kevin. He was very helpful as well and did anything I asked, but didn't speak english very well. Good thing my friend who was my DOC speaks chinese so she barked orders to him. The problem with ABC is their wait staff. They were incompetent and didn't do anything that was told them. The restaurant had chilled my wines for me from the day before and when I asked them to bring it out, it took at least three different people to talk to and an hour passed before they finally did it. They also cut my cake slices WAY to small. I had ordered an extra full sheet back up cake which shouldn't have fed more than 100 people or so. Instead of taking the display cake into the back to cut up, they just took the sheet cake and cut that into 250+ pieces! So, my entire display cake was completely untouched except for the slice my DH & I cut. Everyone's slice was a tiny little sliver. I kept telling the wait staff to take the other cake back, but they never paid attention to me. I guess I would recommend using this place to another bride, but just be aware of the wait staff. Make sure you become good friends with the manager (Jack or Kevin are great!) and have someone on hand that speaks chinese to get the wait staff to work. And if you have a back up sheet cake, tell them beforehand not to cut it too small. Useful Links |
